The Mystical Geek

Shireyuchan is just coming back from an experience that she had with a fundamentalist cult based in the Philippines.  Right now she is an active member of the Difensores Fidei and a very active blogger on things Catholic. 

Shireyu is an alumna of Colegio San Agustin-Biñan and though raised a Catholic she became a die-hard member of Eli Soriano's Church of God International (formerly Iglesya ng Dios kay Kristo Hesus, Haligi at Saligan ng Katotohanan).  She tells about her story here.

“Chronicles of a Revert (part 1)” is — if I am not mistaken — the first time that Shireyu writes about her conversion story.  When I personally met here in 2004 she was already on her way back to the Catholic Church.  It was about a year ago when I gave her communion during a Mass, although I do not know whether it was her first after her return.  In the blog I referenced above, she tells how she gradually turned away from the Catholic Church, how she became a member of a very anti-Catholic cult and her awakening to the truth about the cult.  Part 2 I expect would be about her return — I am sure “gradual return” — to the Catholic Church.
