The Mysteries of the Light: Christian Life In A Nutshell
During one of the sessions I had with the sisters in retreat at
Novaliches, I talked about the "Mysteries of the Light" as the
Christian life in a nutshell. I read the Pope's Rosarium
Virginis, but there isn't enough materials there on each of the
mysteries that the Pope himself introduced into the recitation of the
rosary. This was due to the fact that meditation on the rosary
shouldn't put anyone in a straitjacket and that the mysteries
themselves "grow" in the measure in which they are meditated upon.
The Mysteries of Light have become my favorites since the time I
started praying them two years ago. And since it is easy to find
New Testament materials for each of those mysteries, I found out that
one can arrange those materials and draw from them an overarching
theological theme that can actually help one in one's prayer
life. Below is the table I used as a summary for the presentation
of the Mysteries of Light as "The Christian Life In A Nutshell"

Using this schema, it is easy to see that the Mysteries of Light shed "light" on the Christian's identity as child of God, as citizen of the kingdom, and as a disciple of the Lord in the New Covenant.
